How can I see my MacBook screen in sunlight?

Crank brightness to max first. That's the single biggest fix. On a MacBook Pro 14"/16" or Pro Display XDR, you can push past the macOS cap. That reaches about 1,600 nits, system-wide, on the same keys. MacBrightness opens that reserved range. The free Splitscreen Mode shows you the brighter screen before you pay $5. Then back it with tactics: sit with the sun behind your screen, tilt it down to kill reflections, and use a matte finish. Direct overhead sun still has limits. But a bright Pro panel turns a gray smear on the deck into a readable screen. Air, Intel, M1 13", and Studio Display are already maxed.
