MacBrightness is built to respect your privacy. The short version: the app runs entirely on your Mac, and we collect as little as possible. This policy explains what that means.
The app
MacBrightness adjusts your display brightness locally on your Mac. It does not collect, transmit, or store your personal data, your screen contents, or your usage. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.
This website
We may use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand how many people visit macbrightness.com and which pages they read. Where used, this data is anonymized and is never sold. We do not run advertising trackers.
Purchases
When you buy a license, payment is handled by our processors: the Mac App Store (Apple) and, for direct card purchases, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Those providers process your payment under their own privacy policies. We retain only what we need to deliver and support your license (for example, an order reference or email address you provide).
If you email support@macbrightness.com, we use your message and address only to reply and provide support.
Cookies
This site does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Any cookies present are strictly functional.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To make a request, email support@macbrightness.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
MacBrightness is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will revise the "last updated" date above when we do.
