Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the MacBrightness app and the macbrightness.com website. By downloading or buying MacBrightness, you agree to them.

Your license

MacBrightness is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. A license grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on the number of devices included with your plan:

Every license includes all features and free updates.

Free trial

MacBrightness runs in Splitscreen Mode for free, for as long as you like, so you can confirm it works for you before purchasing. Unlocking the full screen requires a paid license.

What you agree not to do

Payments and refunds

Purchases are processed by the Mac App Store (Apple) or Stripe. Mac App Store purchases are subject to Apple's refund process. For direct purchases, if MacBrightness does not work on your supported Mac, email support@macbrightness.com within 30 days and we will make it right. Because the free trial lets you verify compatibility first, we ask that you try it before buying.

Hardware requirements

MacBrightness requires a Mac with a display that can exceed its standard brightness: a MacBook Pro 14″ or 16″ with an M-series Pro or Max chip, or a Pro Display XDR. It will not increase brightness on hardware that cannot physically go brighter.

Warranty disclaimer

MacBrightness only enables the brightness range your display already supports for HDR content, and adds no noticeable system overhead. Still, the app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MacBrightness and its makers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
